The Promenade

The promenade is a pre-war boulevard that used to separate the beach from the health resort area. Currently, it is a bit inland. Nowadays, the Promenade blends afternoon café hustle and bustle with nightlife. Numerous restaurants, beer gardens, ice cream parlours, pastry shops and the aquarium are placed along the Promenade. A lot of events take place in the bandshell in the summertime. Well-kept historic Art Nouveau buildings add much charm. Some of them house atmospheric pubs. There are also benches and bicycle trails along the Promenade. You can go directly down to the beach from several places along the Promenade. There is free Wi-Fi available along the entire length of the Promenade.
