Old Town in Nowe Warpno

The old town in Nowe Warpno dates back to the Middle Ages. The key points of interest are the characteristic half-timbered buildings from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, and the town hall.

The area of the Old Town is located in the center of Nowe Warpno, approx. 43 km north-west of the center of Szczecin. The provincial road No. 114 runs through the city and its vicinity: the red bicycle "Wkrzańska Puszcza Trail" as well as the green R-66 International Cycling Route around the Szczecin Lagoon.

Nowowarpieńska Old Town is one of the most beautiful and oldest elements of the city. It has a medieval origin, which emphasizes its historical character. The Old Town also has rich architectural and urban values, as evidenced by the existing buildings located within it. The area of the Old Town is closed mainly by tenement houses. There are also half-timbered buildings from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, among which the key role is played by the town hall located in the very center of the complex, which is the seat of the municipal authorities. This area is dominated by brick residential and utility buildings from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The streets around the town hall within the Old Town are paved. There is an interestingly decorated street pump on the square by the City Hall. There is also a statue of Hans Hartig, a famous landscape painter and graphic artist who lived here before the war. After dark, stylish street lamps illuminate the area of the old town. Some of them have flower beds with decorative vegetation, which adds charm and enlivens the place. There are also benches where you can relax. Bicycle stands were installed at the town hall. There is also a car park for several cars. Between the tenement houses there is an arch-shaped entrance gate with a bas-relief yacht - leading to Aleja Żeglarzy. Nearby, there is a historic parish church. Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, dating from the 15th century.
