The Maritime Narrow-Gauge Railway Exhibition is held under the Maritime Museum, which is a branch of the National Museum in Szczecin. The exhibition displayed there entitled ‘Permanent Exhibition of Narrow-Gauge Railway in Gryfice’ was opened in 1993, superseding the ‘Museum and Open-Air Museum of Narrow-Gauge Railway of West Pomerania’, which had been operating at the place since 1978, a branch of the Railway Museum in Warsaw. In July 2010 the exhibition was integrated into the structure of the branch of the National Museum in Szczecin.

The exhibition covers an area of around 5,500 m2. It includes: exhibition rooms, museum pavilion and an exhibition square in the open air. When walking around the exhibition rooms, the visitors may trace the history of narrow-gauge railway in the West Pomerania. They will see a series of models, accurate representations of railway vehicles, and photographs presenting the history of narrow-gauge and standard railway in the West Pomerania in the ‘German’ and ‘Polish’ times. The collection of photographs at the museum is enriched with photographs presenting the history of world railway. Outside the museum there is a rolling stock with a steam locomotive, passenger cars, freight cars, machinery and railway equipment.

The most interesting exhibits include: several narrow-gauge steam locomotives with a 1000 mm wide track gauge (e.g. Tyn6 type steam locomotives built in 1927 at ‘VULCAN’ plant in Szczecin, Ty9785 type locomotives constructed in 1921 at ‘Orenstein & Koppel’ factory in Berlin), cars (e.g. passenger car from 1904 constructed in car factory in Görlitz) and traction units (e.g. snowplows and jacks). The museum can boast of functional turntable for steam locomotives, and a track system connected with the Narrow-Gauge Railway of Rewal that is still in operation.

In addition, the museum offers trips with a guide (also in English after prior telephone reservation of a trip at 48 22 620 04 80, extension 106). Those who wish to check out the railway on their own are offered an amazing opportunity – a ride in the genuine, restored machine which forms a part of the rolling stock of the Narrow-Gauge Railway of Rewal, on Gryfice-Pogorzelica route (Gryfice wąsk., Popiele, Rybokarty, Niedźwiedziska, Modlimowo, Paprotno, Karnice, Dreżewo, Trzęsacz, Rewal, Śliwin, Niechorze, Pogorzelica) or a shortened route - Trzęsacz-Pogorzelica. For more information on the Narrow-Gauge Railway of Rewal go to: www.kolej.rewal.pl or call 48 91 38 42 235.

The museum offers the following tickets: regular, concession, family and with a guide. On Sundays, the admission is free. The museum accepts the Large Family Card. The price list and a list of concessions is available on the website: http://www.muzeum.szczecin.pl/index.phpoption=com_content&view=article&id=8&Itemid=3

The facility has a disabled-friendly infrastructure. There is a toilet.
