THE PLAY "STOCKHOLM TRAGEDY"

The show refers to landmark moments in the poet's biography, fragments of her work and correspondence. It does not perpetuate the monumental image known from textbooks and functioning in the popular consciousness, but tries to illuminate the lesser-known threads in Wislawa Szymborska's life. The show is primarily a story about moments of triumph, mistakes of the past, the right to defend oneself and the importance of friendship. And about the fact that all of life's difficulties can be transformed into personal strength. And the "Stockholm tragedy" of the title is the term Wislawa Szymborska used to describe the time when she received the Nobel Prize for literature in 1996, which had to do with the media hype created around her.
