A witty comedy by the castle's Piwnica przy Krypcie Theater. Joanna and Valentin have gone for marriage therapy. They agree on only one thing - that they intend to separate, and they are a harmonious team only during arguments. The therapist diagnoses them with such an acute state of tension that he reaches for a special method: miracle therapy. The spouses must imagine that suddenly everything is fine between them. The effect, however, is the opposite - the fictional image of happiness only emphasizes the current emptiness. Both of them become even more strident. Also, the role-swapping game doesn't work, what's more, it becomes an ideal opportunity to portray the partner as a monster and to mock him.
Joan and Valentin seem like a truly hopeless case, until the therapist runs out of ideas and orders a break... When the session resumes, the psychologist - after a phone call, seems completely shaken. He is unable to carry on with the therapy, until finally the puzzled spouses proceed to counterattack. Now they are the ones who start asking questions....
"Miracle Therapy" in our edition is a brilliant and by all means entertaining analysis of the changes that occur during a marital crisis, where even the psychotherapist - in addition to giving advice - can actively participate in therapy. - Arkadiusz Buszko
