The festival presents the most interesting documentaries from around the world on sailing and maritime topics. It is the only event of its kind in Poland and one of the few in the world. The films presented are unique, the characters are real and the script is most often written by life itself. Each of the films has its own story. And this story does not always end with the expiration of the screen....
There will be adventurous-discovery stories ("Lost in the Atlantic", "Damien's Journey" ), as well as strongly adventurous ones ("Adventures of the Dodo"). There will be something for lovers of sailing hi-tech that is, the film "Ice Queen", and for lovers of low-tech sailing, that is, sailing on a small boat without any navigational equipment ("Inside / Outside "). We will show a moving story about the passing of time, and the change of life's priorities, that is, how the heroes of our dreams grow old ("Farewell to Adventure").
Perhaps some of the titles will seem familiar. It's true. We decided to recall two films that have already been featured on YachtFilm in the past. However, their renewed presence is absolutely justified. "The Adventures of Dodo" is one of perhaps the "cheeriest" films that have been at the festival. We showed it in 2016. We recall it because the story of the film's main character, Bob Shepton, is continued in the recently made documentary "Farewell to Adventure". Both of these titles form a whole.
On the other hand, "Damien's Journey" premiered at Jachtfilm in 2012. It was shown one and only. For various copyright reasons, we could never show it again. And it is a beautiful film about the journey of two young friends around Antarctica, in the early 1970s. We want to recall this story, especially in the context of the film "Ice Queen," with which we will end this year's YachtFilm.
