AD ASTRA Premiere and stars - Victoria at Villa Lentz On Friday, April 25 at 8 pm, Polish world stars will perform at Villa Lentz: accordionist Maciej Frąckiewicz and guitarist Łukasz Kuropaczewski, accompanied by multipercussionist Patryk Zakrzewski. They will present Szczecin audiences with music from their latest album "Victoria," which was released by Warner. During the concert we will hear Spanish and Latin music, as well as the intriguing "Suite in the old style" by Alfred Schnittke. The ruins of the Victoria theater in Gliwice, where the album was created, have something magical about them: they exude mystery, evoke echoes of past glories, and make us reflect on the future. As the musicians themselves admit: "This music cannot be easily described. The clues lead to the philharmonic hall, some reach back to Argentine cafes, others - direct towards the present. It crosses genre boundaries, combining elements of tango, jazz, early music, contemporary and electronic music." The resulting sound permeates the repertoire of "Victoria" and makes a musical story out of works by artists from different parts of the world and different eras: coherent, moving, engaging - like any well-told story. Lukasz Kuropaczewski is one of the few Polish classical musicians who can boast performances at such venues as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Festival Hall in London and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. A professor at music academies in Graz, Austria, and Poznan, Maciej Frąckiewicz is a total artist who performs early and recent, accessible and much more demanding music with equal artistry and finesse. What's more, Frąckiewicz has already established himself in the pantheon of Poland's most important accordion virtuosos. In 2013 he was awarded the "Passport of Polityka", and he is also the youngest accordion professor in Germany, where he teaches a class at a university in Nuremberg. Patryk Zakrzewski is a multipercussionist, session musician and a graduate of the Academy of Music in Katowice. He collaborates with popular music artists such as Andrzej Piaseczny, Urszula Dudziak and Mika Urbaniak, but he does not shy away from classical music either, having premiered contemporary works at the "Warsaw Autumn" festival, among others.
