Warmer, warmer.... transformation! - How to heat the city with your head? - lecture for high schools

Is it possible to heat an entire city in such a way that it is ecological, modern and... safe for the planet? Sure it can - you just need to know how! That's why we invite you to a workshop on transforming a small city, where high school students will take on the role of urban heat strategists. Under the watchful (but very kind) eye of Simona Niekrewicz and Grzegorz Pietruszewski of the SEC, we will check how modern heating works. We will analyze, plan and figure out how to replace the fossil fuels with a decent district heating system that works quietly, cleanly and gives a lot of... well, heat! During the class: - we will discover the secrets of system heat, - we will learn about renewable sources that can power the district heating network, - we will brainstorm about the energy transformation of a small city, - and perhaps we will find a recipe for an urban heat revolution! There will be a lot of good energy (and not just the renewable kind), practical challenges and opportunities to demonstrate ingenuity. We warmly invite you - after all, who, if not you, will design a future without smog? The lecture will be held as part of the "SEC with Class" campaign - a series of educational activities aimed at secondary schools organized by #SEC together with #MCN, divided into educational modules designed to correspond to the core curriculum in subjects such as physics, chemistry, biology, computer science and history.
