14th Bicycle Rally Around the Szczecin Lagoon

More than 500 cyclists from different corners of Poland and abroad will set out on the route of the 14th Bicycle Rally around the Szczecin Lagoon. The cyclists will cover together a distance of about 290 kilometers (155 kilometers on the first day and 135 kilometers on the second day) riding through Western Pomerania in Poland and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Germany. The rally participants will move in groups at a tourist pace (about 20 km/h) savoring the beauty of the Szczecin Lagoon area. Volunteers of the Szczecin Gryfus Bicycle Club Foundation will take care of the safety of the participants, and in sections where it will not be possible to use bicycle paths the police. Patronage of the event was taken by the West Pomeranian Voivode - Adam Rudawski, the Marshal of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship - Olgierd Geblewicz and the Mayor of Szczecin - Piotr Krzystek. In Anklam the cyclists will be hosted by Mayor Michael Galander, and in Stepnica by Mayor Andrzej Wyganowski. The organizers for the organization of the event and funding for the purchase of dedicated cycling shirts for the rally participants obtained funds from the budget of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship and the Municipality of Szczecin (the so-called small grant). The purchase of the shirts was also supported by the companies: Gezet Group and Berlin Döner Kebap. Gezet Group is also the Automotive Partner of the event and provides the cars necessary to secure the rally. Service for the rally participants was provided by the Szczecin-based electric bicycle manufacturer company - Geobike. Throughout the route cyclists will be supported by service technicians both in the service car and on electric bicycles (a large part of the route leads along embankments in places inaccessible to cars, so service technicians on bicycles will be a very practical form of assistance).
