Water is life, rivers are the aorta of cities... but not always. On a walk with Joanna Grycko, a unique Szczecin guide, we will learn about blood-curdling stories. We will meet on Piastowski Boulevard by the barrels of herring. Why are there barrels of herring here, and when was it written about Szczecin that you can smell the city before you see it? We will begin our walk with the answers to these questions. Of course, there will also be the story of the train that drove into the Oder River. The oldest river crossing and long bridge also hides secrets. We will learn about them as we walk to Łasztownia. It used to be the heart of the city. The street layout has been preserved since Prussian times. Life went on in the dark corners, and stories worthy of more than one good crime novel took place there. We will learn about many such events. We will pass by the mast from K. Maciejewicz's ship. Every sea dog should know the biography of the captain of captains. We will walk to Skwer Kapitanów (Captains' Square), listening to sea stories along the way. Finally, the icing on the cake, a story about Szczecin paprykarz. ????‍♀️Start: Herring barrels on Piastowski Boulevard, 10:30 a.m. ????‍♀️End: Monument to Szczecin Paprykarz ????Length of the route: approx. 2 km ????Joanna Grycko (Wachnik) - I am a licensed City Guide in Szczecin. I was born and raised here. Not only do I live in this city, but I also live Szczecin. A city unknown and undiscovered. A city whose history is worth learning about. I am a graduate of the Maritime University. Salt water runs in my veins. My passion is sailing and finding peace under full sail in the middle of the sea. Szczecin, which I talk about, is also historic architecture, rich history, and multiculturalism, but also one of the most modern and dynamically developing cities in Poland. Szczecin is, above all, its inhabitants. ????Participation in the walk is free of charge. ????Media patronage: Infoludek.pl - Szczecin information and advertising portal, Radio Plus Szczecin, SzczecinCzyta.pl, TVP3 Szczecin ℹ️The walk is part of the "VII Szczecińskie Spotkanie z Dreszczykiem" (7th Szczecin Meeting with a Thrill) project, which is implemented as part of the Social Activist Program.
