The Winter Polish Open Swimming Championships for People with Disabilities is a regular event serving as a qualifier for the World Championships, sanctioned by World Para Swimming. The competitions, which will be held as part of the above-mentioned international championships, will provide an opportunity to qualify for the World Swimming Championships and the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. The above competitions are prepared in accordance with the applicable regulations of World Para Swimming and the Polish Association of Disabled Sports "Start."
Each competitor taking part in the competition is required to compete in at least three individual events. The event will also be attended by assistants to blind competitors, known as tappers. Their participation is mandatory in accordance with WPS regulations.
As every year, delegates from the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), including international judges and qualified technicians, will supervise the proper conduct of the competition. In previous editions of the competition, more than 200 participants from all over Poland and foreign countries such as Denmark, the Netherlands, Iran, Azerbaijan, Germany, the USA, France, Mexico, and India took part each year.
