Organizer (name of institution or first and last name): Kurier Szczeciński sp. z o.o.
The Amber Ring is the oldest theater competition in our region. It is organized by the editorial staff of Kurier Szczeciński. The first edition took place in 1965, but in the 1970s and 1980s, due to socio-political events, it was not organized regularly. Since the 1990s, it has been held continuously, and the rules have remained almost unchanged: audience voting and jury selection.
The newspaper presents the performances and actors nominated for the award and prints competition coupons through which readers can vote. The competition has two categories:
Performance of the season
Soloist of the season: actor/actress
The awards are granted by a jury composed of theater critics and journalists from various editorial offices, as well as separately by the audience through voting via coupons published in Kurier Szczeciński or via text message.
On December 1, 2025, a gala will be held at the Opera at the Castle in Szczecin, where the awards will be presented.
The event is held under the patronage of the Marshal of the West Pomeranian Province and the Mayor of Szczecin. The event is supported by the West Pomeranian Province. The task is carried out as part of the Partnership for Culture program run by the Municipality of Szczecin. The gala is co-organized by the Opera at the Castle in Szczecin.
