Organizer (name of institution or first and last name): Książnica Pomorska im. Stanisława Staszica
On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., we invite you to the opening of Bernadeta Wdzięczna's exhibition "Sploty Pamięci" (Weaves of Memory), where the artist will present moving portraits that introduce the viewer to the story of people who have left a lasting mark on the history of Western Pomerania.
Bernadeta Wdzięczna arrived in Pomerania in 1962. Here, she graduated from the State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Szczecin. She learned the art of portraiture under the guidance of Prof. Henryk Boehlke. She is a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers and the Era Art Association for the Promotion of Coastal Artists, as well as a co-founder of SSMSP Brama.
The artist prefers portrait and figurative painting. In her works, she uses cotton, silk, linen, and jute. She paints unique pictures on knitwear, scarves, or original fabrics, introducing elements of gauze, lace, or sheet metal. She has developed her own technique of painting on fabrics with their relief use. Her focus is on people, mainly in portrait and figurative form, coexisting with the material of the background, which provides a pretext for extremely interesting aesthetic solutions.
