The Regional Museum in Bobolice cordially invites all enthusiasts of the history of the town and region to a real historical treat in the form of a lecture entitled: ????"The castle and town of Bobolice during the reign of the bishops of Kamień (until 1544)".???? The lecture will be given by Dr. Rafał Simiński, a researcher at the Historical Institute of the University of Szczecin, who specializes in the history of Western Pomerania in the Middle Ages. ???? The lecture will focus on the history of the castle and town of Bobolice during the reign of the bishops of Kamień, from the time when the Bobolice area came under the rule of Frederick von Eickstedt (1330-1343) until the reign of the last Catholic bishop, Erasmus von Manteuffel (1521-1544). ???? Economic changes took place there at that time, which resulted in the town being established under German law in 1340. The unique character of Bobolice as a border town was not without significance for its fate during this period, especially until 1466, when the rule of the bishops of Kamień was adjacent to the state of the Teutonic Order in Prussia. ???? During the lecture, based on previously unknown historical sources, issues such as the establishment and functioning of the town of Bobolice and the turbulent history of the local castle will be discussed. The history of the rule of the bishops of Kamień and the local knightly families, including the Massow, Glasenapp, and Kleist families, will provide an important context for the issues discussed. ????
