In the summer of 2020, a tourist information center was opened in one of the oldest half-timbered houses in Angermünde – Haus Uckermark, located directly on the market square, in the historic center of the city. The Haus Uckermark building, erected in 1694, has been thoroughly restored and rebuilt.

Visitors enter the tourist information center through a foyer featuring an old chest from which old stories "fly out" in multimedia form. Visitors can also enjoy a glass wall with a view of the garden with fruit trees and cozy seating areas.

Stairs or an elevator take visitors to the first floor, where the Angermünde Museum is located. The museum has a rich collection on regional history and archaeology, as well as collections related to the work of writer Eham Welk, who immortalized his home village of Biesenbrow near Angermünde under the literary name "Kummerow."

The exhibition showcases the author's work and explores in an interesting way how literature and history intertwine. In order to show the public treasures from the storerooms that do not fit into the permanent exhibition, or to present collections from other museums, the Angermünde Museum regularly organizes temporary exhibitions.
