Luneta z rybiej głowy (Fish Eye View)
Wonderful artistic prose, in which the maximum horror and beauty of the world is revealed in the lives of the inhabitants of a Pomeranian village. Coming from the fishing village of Chłopy, located between Mielno and Sarbinowo, Zalaszewski touched upon the cruelties of fishermen's lives – drowning at sea while fishing, animal suffering, intolerance towards non-heteronormative people or people with disabilities, and the inhuman toil of working on a fishing boat or on a coastal farm. All this is balanced by discreet stories of unquenchable love, boundless compassion, and the power of human imagination. Zalaszewski's prose, where realism is repeatedly broken by the grotesque, introduces the most penetrating insights into our existence given to people forced to stare at the sea for several generations.
