Meeting with Mariusz Maszkiewicz, author of the book "Podarowana" (The Gift)

The Municipal and District Public Library in Goleniów invites you to a meeting with Mariusz Maszkiewicz, which will take place on January 27 at 4:30 p.m. at the library. The meeting will be devoted to the book "Podarowana" (The Gift) published by the KARTA Center. Mariusz Maszkiewicz is a sociologist, diplomat, publicist, and social and economic activist. The author will talk about his book "Podarowana," in which he attempts to reconstruct the fate of his mother, a survivor of the tragic events in Volhynia, as well as his own search for his family roots and identity. An important theme in the story is Goleniów, the town of the author's childhood and youth, with which he still has a strong emotional bond and memories of people, places, and events from years ago. "Podarowana" combines elements of autobiography, reportage, and family chronicle, carrying a universal message of second-generation memory. The meeting will be held as part of the Book Discussion Club. Admission is free, but the number of places is limited. We invite you to join us!
