Meeting with Marta Orzeszyna on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Xawery Dunikowski's birth

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Xawery Dunikowski's birth, we invite you to a meeting with Marta Orzeszyna on the subject of the famous sculptor and his friends – painter and interior decorator Sara Lipska and legendary hairdresser Antoine de Paris. The meeting will be hosted by Bogna Tokarska. Marta Orzeszyna is an expert on French literature and culture. She lived in Paris for ten years. It was there that she learned about the history of the hairdresser of all time, Antoine Cierplikowski, and his friends, the artist Sara Lipska and Xawery Dunikowski, and it was there that she began to collect documentation about them. After returning to Poland, she collaborated with Małgorzata Gutowska-Adamczyk on the best-selling novel Podróż do miasta świateł (Journey to the City of Lights). She is the co-author of the book Paryż. Miasto sztuki i miłości w czasach belle époque (Paris: City of Art and Love in the Belle Époque) (PWN 2012) and its reissue with rich graphics: Paris: Belle Epoque (Rebis 2023), author of the biography Antoine de Paris: Polish Genius of World Hairdressing (Rebis 2019) and the novel Gra o miłość (Game for Love) (Harde 2019). In 2026, her groundbreaking biography of Sara Lipska will be published, as well as the continuation of her series on Paris – a story full of anecdotes about the 1920s and 1930s in the capital of the world. Marta Orzeszyna collaborates with the art magazine Art Monitor, where she publishes numerous biographical articles about Polish artists in France. She is a historical consultant for a documentary film about Tamara Łempicka. Her biography of Antoine de Paris is being adapted into a feature film and documentary, and the French translation of the book will be published by the prestigious Flammarion publishing house in the spring of 2026.
