Marek Torzewski – a world-famous opera singer, winner of numerous awards for his vocal artistry, promoting Polish culture around the world and his outstanding artistic individuality. He was the first Polish artist to perform a recital at NATO Headquarters in Sheppard and inaugurated the International Chopin Year in Belgium, where he has lived for many years. At the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów, he was the first artist in Poland to perform the national anthem before the Poland-Ukraine match. Marek Torzewski's original song "Do przodu, Polsko" ("Forward, Poland") was recognized as the anthem of the national team. During his career, Marek Torzewski successfully shattered the stereotypical image of an opera singer in a pompous setting held by Polish audiences. Just as Jan Kiepura once sang operetta arias from a hotel balcony, Torzewski appeared on TVP programs, on stages, and outdoors, dressed less formally, with medium-length hair. Classically trained, he does not limit himself to classical music. Torzewski captivates with his beautiful, warm voice, ease, and naturalness, creating a romantic mood. His exceptional talent has enabled him to perform on stages around the world: in Brussels, Paris, New York, and La Scala in Milan. He has had the pleasure of working with the best conductors, including Zubin Mehta and Claudio Abbado.
