Concrete bunkers

Concrete bunkers from World War II. The Eastern and Western bunkers are located 200 metres apart, directly on the Velo Baltica route. Their exact purpose is unclear – most often they are referred to as a powder magazine or observation post for the military unit in Unieście (naval aviation base). Today, the structures have been converted into a modern educational installation and are located on the Forest Loop of Adventures and Mysteries in Mielno – a trail combining history, nature and local curiosities. The trail leads through old dunes characteristic of coastal forests and other objects such as fortified settlements, large pine cone figures, a moss clearing and a wooden boat. The trail is an invitation for families to spend time together as a stop on a cycling route or a longer walk. There are two loops to choose from: a shorter one (approx. 1.5 km) or a longer one (approx. 3 km).
