535TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE WEDDING OF BOGUSŁAW X AND ANNA JAGIELLONKA February 2 (Monday), 5:00 p.m. Bogusław X Hall Free admission (limited seating) February 2, 2026 marks the 535th anniversary of the wedding of Prince Bogusław X and Anna Jagiellonka – an event that has forever been inscribed in the history of the Pomeranian Dukes' Castle in Szczecin. It was here, in 1491, that the union between the Pomeranian Gryfit dynasty and the Jagiellonian family was formed. On this occasion, the Castle invites you to a meeting with the ducal couple, which will remind you of the significance of this historic marriage. After the meeting, there will be a screening of the film "Babska sprawa" (A Woman's Business). It is a story about two sculptors – Leonia Chmielnik and Anna Paszkiewicz, the authors of the monument to Bogusław X and Anna Jagiellonka, located in front of the entrance to the Castle. At the end, the Castle invites you to take a walk in the company of the castle guide Tomasz Wieczorek. Walking route: • Bogusław X Hall • Large Courtyard (castle clock, foundation stone of Prince Barnim XI, tombstone of Prince Barnim III, sundials) • Mint Courtyard (statue of Bishop Otto of Bamberg, foundation stone of Dukes Philip II and Francis I, outline of St. Otto's Church, 1:100 scale model of the castle) The tour ends at the monument to Prince Bogusław X and Anna Jagiellonka. BABSKA SPRAWA (A Woman's Business) documentary film, Poland 2024 (34 min.) Directed by Helena Kwiatkowska The film "Babska sprawa" tells the story of two sculptors, Leonia Chmielnik and Anna Paszkiewicz, who in 1969 won a competition announced by the Provincial National Council in Szczecin for the design and construction of a monument to Bogusław X and Anna Jagiellonka. The film was made thanks to funding from the West Pomeranian Film Fund Pomerania Film.
