MARTYNA JAKUBOWICZ
She has been performing and releasing albums continuously for over 40 years. Albums released in recent years: "Burzliwy błękit Joanny" (2013), "Prosta piosenka" (2016) and "Zwykły włóczęga" (2018) have brought her popularity not only among older listeners, but also among younger audiences.
The album "Prosta Piosenka" was appreciated by both the media and the music industry. The artist received the Polish Radio Three Program Award – Mateusz 2016 and the Fryderyk 2017 Award for "Album of the Year in the Roots Music category."
She has released fifteen albums, which have been recognized not only by a wide audience but also by the foreign press (reviews in Rolling Stone and Guitar Player) and the domestic music industry (nominations for the Fryderyk award in 1995 and 2011). In 2024, the artist was honored with the Golden Fryderyk award for her lifetime achievement.
Since the beginning of her career, Martyna Jakubowicz has collaborated with prominent figures of the Polish music scene: the Pospieszalski brothers, Wojciech Waglewski, the late Ryszard Riedel, Kortez, Kayah, and many others.
Although her atmospheric ballads sound great in intimate, closed venues, her energetic songs with a rock edge mean that she is equally at home at outdoor events and festivals (Pop Session, Rock Arena, Jarocin, Przystanek Woodstock, Rawa Blues, and many others).
Martyna Jakubowicz's music is timeless and appeals to multiple generations. Not only does the artist have a loyal audience that has been with her for years, but with each new album she also gains new fans from the younger generation. It is not uncommon for entire families to attend her concerts.
In addition to her greatest hits, such as "W domach z betonu nie ma wolnej miłości" ("There is no free love in concrete houses") and "Kołysanka dla Misiaków" ("Lullaby for Teddy Bears"), her current concert repertoire includes songs from the album "Akustyczność" ("Acousticity"), released in October 2023 and recorded with Janek Pentz, among others.
