WOMEN'S DAY IN THE GARDENS OF PRZELEWICE

Tomasz Jachimek's "Mela Gibson's Friend" is a funny story about Feliks Rzepka, a middle-aged actor whose artistic career in the past was limited to one "great" role as Cyrano de Bergerac, giving him a sense of personal greatness for years. The protagonist cannot believe that his long string of successes and achievements could suddenly come to an end. However, he does not give up and, in his desperation, he ultimately directs and plays the greatest role of his life with great precision, leaving the audience stunned and bursting with laughter. The misguided understanding of the world, the stupidity and infantilism of adults are disarming in this play. Rzepka's high self-esteem and attempt to use the popularity of others for his own purposes brings a sincere smile of warm pity to the viewer's face. Feliks' colorful memories of his acting travels create a funny atmosphere of life's perversity, ridiculousness, and lack of humility... leading the audience to priceless reflection.
