Meeting with Zbigniew Kowalewski, author of the book "Garnizon Szczecin-Podjuchy" (The Szczecin-Podjuchy Garrison)

"Garnizon Szczecin-Podjuchy" (The Szczecin-Podjuchy Garrison) is a fascinating story about one of the most important military sites in Western Pomerania. Richly illustrated with archival photographs, documents, and maps, this publication presents the history of the garrison in Podjuchy, its significance for the region, and its impact on the development of the local community. The author also provides insight into the daily life of soldiers and the history of units stationed in this part of Szczecin, drawing on previously unpublished materials. The guest of the meeting will be Zbigniew Kowalewski, the author – a former professional soldier of the Polish Army, participant in peacekeeping missions in Afghanistan, long-time resident of Podjuchy, researcher and enthusiast of local history, author of exhibitions and articles devoted to the history of Podjuchy and the military. The meeting will be hosted by Jakub Olszewski, an expert on the history of Podjuchy and a guide to the area. We invite all lovers of the history of the region and the heritage of Western Pomerania! The publication of the book is under the honorary patronage of the 5th Engineering Regiment named after Major General Ignacy Prądzyński and the media patronage of the Szczeciner.pl portal and the "Podjuchy – Stare Podjuchy" community.
