The monastery was established in 1973. It is located next to the Church of Our Lady of Częstochowa. The Franciscans took over the church as early as 1945. The parish was canonically established in 1951. In 1978, it was decided to build a new house on the site of the former monastery building, which was too costly to renovate. The result was an imposing, massive structure that today serves as a landmark of Darłowo. The friars lead retreat programs, organize days of recollection, and conduct Advent and Lenten retreats. The friars live modestly, attaching no importance to material possessions. An interesting fact is that every October 4, a service is held for animals, during which they are blessed. Nighttime baptisms of children, involving immersion in water, also take place here. The monastery houses a monastic chapel.
