Organizer (name of institution or first and last name): Wałeckie Centrum Kultury
The Wałcz Cultural Center invites you to the next installment of the "Everything I Love" series—the opening of Wiesław Teofilak’s exhibition "Metabody Art"
Sunday, April 19, 12:00 PM, WCK Club Room. Free admission.
Wiesław Teofilak (born 1985 in Piła) – a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, Department of Graphic Arts. Draftsman, graphic artist, illustrator. In his work, he primarily uses pencil, ink, and water-based markers. Sometimes, in search of ways to achieve a more complete expression, I reach for three-dimensional elements such as strings, fabrics, feathers, and wax.
Creator of his own series titled METABODY ART, in which he most often combines human anatomy with depictions of animals, symbolically addressing the development of biotechnology and genetics in the context of human evolution.
His paintings explore science, ethics, transhumanism (understood as the overcoming of human limitations), religion, ecology, and even the 19th-century theory of recapitulation, which explains why the human embryo in its first weeks resembles other organisms—fish, reptiles, and birds.
