In the 2025–2026 school year, the Regional Committee at the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin is organizing the regional preliminaries of the 49th Agricultural Knowledge and Skills Competition. The competition is open to students of technical schools, first-level vocational schools, second-level vocational schools, and general secondary schools. The competition consists of three stages: school, regional, and national. Students participate
in six thematic blocks: agribusiness, landscape architecture, agricultural mechanization, crop production, livestock production, and veterinary medicine. The Olympiad is a competition
in the field of broadly defined agricultural knowledge—both theoretical and practical. Its aim is to show high school students the challenges facing this one of the most important sectors of the national economy, to broaden their interests in various forms of progress
in agriculture (biological, technical, organizational, economic, and social), and to strengthen emotional ties to agricultural production—the future workplace of young farmers—which is of exceptional importance for the proper practice of the profession.
The competition includes a written (theoretical) section; − each participant answers 60 test questions, including 45 specialized questions and 15 on economics and organization related to the given thematic block. − a group of participants in the same thematic block receives a set of identical questions. In total, a participant can earn 60 points for correct answers. Contestants can earn an additional 60 points by completing three tasks in the practical section. Students participating in the Olympiad demonstrate the ability to reason in terms of cause and effect and possess knowledge across a range of fields related to the natural environment; most of them plan to pursue careers in the agricultural sector. Winners of the regional preliminaries advance to the National Finals, which this year will take place on May 22–23, 2026, at the Poznań University of Life Sciences.
