Marek Maruszczak will be a guest at the Jan Śpiewak Municipal and County Public Library and the Świdwin Cultural Center. A video game designer by day, after hours he is the author of books that prove nature can be… surprisingly irrational. His works include titles such as “Poland’s Silly Birds: A Guide for the Conscious Observer,” “Poland’s Silly Animals and How to Find Them: A Guide for the Conscious Observer,” and “Stupid Worms and Other Such Creatures of Poland: A Guide for the Conscious Observer,” as well as a nature series for children and fantasy novels for young adults (“Sally: It’s Hard to Be a Witch,” “Agnes: Bobki and Other Sacred Things”). He runs the fan page “Animals Are Stupid and So Are Plants,” where he takes a humorous (and slightly mischievous) look at representatives of the animal and plant kingdoms. A meet-and-greet with the author will take place at the “Czytelnik” Café on May 10 at 4:00 PM. If you want to hear about just how stupid animals and plants are (and probably more besides), be sure to stop by! It’ll be fun, interesting, and tongue-in-cheek.
