The Pomeranian Library and the “Western Pomerania” Association of Journalists of the Republic of Poland cordially invite you to a tribute event honoring Jacek Fijałkowski on the occasion of his 55th anniversary as an artist, hosted by Anna Kolmer.
Jacek Fijałkowski—photographer, graphic artist, and set designer. For 47 years, he was a member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers (Warsaw District). He is currently a member of the Association of Journalists of the Republic of Poland “Western Pomerania.”
In the second half of the 1970s, he began collaborating with the Polish Theater and the Contemporary Theater in Szczecin; later, he also worked with theaters throughout Poland—by 1991, he had photographed 250 performances. He also designed theater posters combining graphics with photography, which were exhibited, among other places, at the Warsaw Poster Biennale. In the 1990s, he turned to computer graphics, product photography, and web design. He participated in competitions and exhibitions almost all over the world. He collaborated with the National Publishing Agency and Estrada Szczecińska. He designed book covers and posters advertising stage events. He organized several photographic happenings.
In 2022, he published the album “Skrawek,” in which he summarized his artistic achievements. Sergiusz Sachno, an outstanding photographer, wrote that Jacek Fijałkowski “does not take pictures—he creates photographs. With the help of one or a few images, he tells a story that dozens of words would not suffice to describe.”
