The lighthouse in Gąski was built between 1876 and 1878. It is a red-brick structure. The building materials were delivered by sea and unloaded onto a pier built specifically for this purpose. The lighthouse is 49.8 meters tall, making it the second-tallest lighthouse in Poland. Originally, a kerosene-powered Fresnel lens was installed in the lighthouse, which was replaced in 1927 with an electrically powered system. At that time, a clock-driven shutter mechanism was also installed, which ensured the consistency of the transmitted signal. Today, the lighthouse is equipped with a ring-and-drum lens and a 1,500-watt light bulb. This allows the signal to be transmitted over a distance of 43.5 km. The lighthouse has been equipped with the HELCOM-designed AIS-PL system, which enables automatic monitoring of vessel traffic in the coastal zone. During the summer, visitors can admire the panoramic view of the surrounding area from the top of the lighthouse. A staircase with 190 steps leads to the observation deck.
