The complex of industrial buildings on Kolumba Street, which includes a former yeast factory, is known as “Szczecin’s Venice” because it is located right on the water. The factory buildings were constructed in the late 19th century.Theyaremassive red-brick structures. Among them were a yeast factory, a distillery, and a chocolate factory. During its pre-war heyday, the yeast and spirits produced here were famous throughout Germany. Unfortunately, the complex was devastated after the war. The buildings are currently undergoing restoration. The complex can be viewed from the outside.
