A two-day festival exclusively for girls and women. DAY 1: Simultaneous exhibition with WGM Julia Antolak. August 8, 2026 (Saturday) – opening at 2:00 p.m.: • 2:00 p.m. / 3:00 p.m. – registration, drawing of starting numbers, • 3:00 p.m. / 3:30 p.m. – festival opening, welcoming of participants and distinguished guests, • 3:30 p.m. / 6:30 p.m. – chess simultaneous exhibition featuring Grandmaster Julia Antolak, • 6:30 p.m. / 7:30 p.m. – autobiographical talk: “Julia Antolak – From Kołobrzeg to Grandmaster,” • 7:30 PM / 8:00 PM – awards ceremony, conclusion of the simultaneous exhibition. DAY 2: FIDE Rapid Tournament. August 9, 2026 (Sunday) – opening at 8:00 AM: • 8:00 a.m. / 8:30 a.m. – registration for the FIDE Rapid Tournament, • 8:30 a.m. / 8:55 a.m. – important announcements, • 9:00 a.m. / 1:00 p.m. – start of Rounds I, II, III, IV, • 1:00 p.m. / 1:15 p.m. – break for a meal: tomato soup with rice, • 1:15 p.m. / 1:30 p.m. – Mr. Cezary Michalak; a short lecture on Dr. Emanuel Lasker, • 1:30 PM / 4:30 PM – start of rounds V, VI, VII, • 4:30 PM / 6:00 PM – closing announcements, awards ceremony, end of the festival. GOALS / CHARACTERISTICS 1. Popularizing chess among girls and women: - promoting the royal game among children, youth, and adults, with a special focus on girls, women, and people with physical disabilities. 2. Developing skills and raising the level of play: - improving tactical and strategic skills through competition and creating opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge in a tournament setting. 3. Discovering and supporting young talent: - creating a launching pad for talented female chess players of the younger generation who may receive further training support from coaches and chess federations. 4. Enabling the attainment of titles and rankings: - creating conditions for earning new titles and improving existing FIDE rankings and chess categories. 5. Motivation, education, and “fair play” competition: - fostering proper sportsmanship, respect for opponents, and adherence to the rules by combining athletic competition with fun. 6. Promotion of Barlinek’s historical heritage: - introducing the figure and biography of Emanuel Lasker—the World Champion born in Barlinek—as an inspiration for the younger generation of female chess players.
