"Berlinka" is the colloquial name for the highway built by the Germans in the early 1940s. It was intended to connect the German capital with Königsberg, which remained on the borders of the Third Reich. Today, several sections are still in use by Polish drivers. Near Węgorzyno, the concrete foundations and massive walls of the future viaduct remain, now buried in the forest.
