The grain warehouse complex no longer serves its original purpose. In the past, the complex housed not only grain warehouses but also a coffee roastery, a dyehouse, and a dry cleaner. It is one of the few surviving 19th-century buildings within the Old Town, and this example of industrial architecture is striking for its size and the original appearance of its facade. Moreover, it is located close to the city center. The construction of such a large facility in Sławno in the 19th century was linked to the city’s rapid development during that period. Contributing factors included the construction of a railroad line, the growing importance of agriculture and trade in agricultural goods, and a generally favorable economic climate. This development, in a sense, necessitated the construction of large warehouses. The warehouse complex was built on the site of a mill that had stood there since the town’s founding.
Numerous architectural elements of the building are noteworthy, such as pilaster strips, cornices, pinnacles, and the distinctive shape of the window and door openings. The exterior walls are constructed of ceramic brick and are unplastered, except for the western wall. Bricks from the G. Lieder brickworks in Sławno were used in the construction of the warehouses. The building is currently undergoing restoration. Its overall technical condition is quite good.
