We cordially invite teachers, educators, psychologists, and anyone interested in learning about methods for effectively responding to violence among children and adolescents to a unique event titled “A Childhood Free of Violence—A School of Safe Power.”
We will begin the conference with an expert session aimed at presenting systemic approaches to supporting children, including procedures, tools, and solutions that help effectively respond to and prevent violence. Participants will learn practical methods for working with children with diverse needs, who often require special attention and an individualized approach. We will discuss ways to build a safe school environment based on cooperation, communication, and mutual trust. Participants will learn how to recognize early warning signs, how to conduct conversations with children and parents, and how to respond in accordance with established procedures to ensure the child’s actual protection. Another key element of the session will be demonstrating how to strengthen cooperation between the school and parents/guardians.
However, we know that theory alone is often not enough, which is why workshops are at the heart of our meeting. Led by Dr. Tomasz Wilczewski, the session will take the form of interactive panels, exercises, and hands-on activities, allowing participants not only to gain knowledge but also to practice specific tools and strategies. The main goal of the session will be to equip staff with practical skills to prevent violence, recognize its early warning signs, and respond in a safe, effective manner that complies with established procedures. Participants will learn methods for building a safe school environment based on empathy, mindfulness, and strengthening relationships. Importantly, the workshop will cover techniques for working with children with diverse needs, including neurodiverse children, who often require special support and understanding. Teachers will receive a set of practical guidelines, response scenarios, and tools that they can use in their daily work.
School must be a place where conflicts are resolved through dialogue and aggression gives way to understanding. However, this requires a united front and mutual support. We believe that this meeting will give you new energy and practical support in this challenging but extremely important mission.
