The Slavs and Vikings Center Association publishes a series of sagas about the Vikings of Jomsborg (Wolin) in the form of radio dramas on the Audioteka platform. These are stories about a place that has fascinated people for centuries—about Wolin, its inhabitants, warriors, merchants, travelers, and the world where various Baltic cultures converged. "The Saga of the Jomsvikings" was written at the turn of the 12th and 13th centuries. Its intriguing plot explains its great popularity in the Middle Ages. The saga draws on the legend of the Vikings from Jomsborg (today’s Wolin) and describes the founding of the famous stronghold and the adventures of the Jomsvikings, the most famous warriors. "The Saga of the Descendants of Canute" is a royal saga, written around the middle of the 13th century, describing the history of the rulers of Denmark in the 10th–12th centuries. The Icelandic historian and poet Olaf Thordarson is considered its author. The story begins in the 10th century and spans 300 years. It is distinguished by the author’s focus on Danish-Slavic relations. The publication of this series of sagas brings the region closer to residents, tourists, children, and young people to the extraordinary history of Wolin, as well as the figures, events, and legends associated with its Viking past.
