  • Organizer (name of institution or first and last name): Muzeum Regionalne im. Andrzeja Kaubego w Wolinie
There are many burial sites in Wolin. Some cemeteries are still in use, while others are now archaeological reserves. There are also those that have been almost completely forgotten. Join us for a unique walk in the footsteps of Wolin’s cemeteries. We’ll set out in search of the places where Wolin’s residents were buried over the centuries, uncovering the stories hidden behind the town’s modern landscape. On November 6 (Friday), we’ll explore the southern part of Wolin. The itinerary includes: the temporary exhibition “Between Death and Ritual: Diverse Funeral Practices,” St. Nicholas Church, the site of the former St. Michael’s Church, and Hangmen’s Hill. Meeting point: in front of the main entrance to the Museum at 5:00 p.m. Due to the evening hour and the off-road nature of the walk, we encourage you to bring flashlights, comfortable shoes, and clothing appropriate for the weather conditions. Participation in the walk is free. Children under 12 years of age are welcome only when accompanied by an adult guardian.
