Vienna New Year's Concert with Stars 2027 (7:00 p.m.)

A New Year’s Gala featuring two repertoires that rarely come together on one stage: Viennese waltzes and Broadway hits. The first part features the classics of New Year’s concerts: waltzes, polkas, and arias from operettas by Johann Strauss, Franz Lehár, and Imre Kálmán. Music that has accompanied Europe’s New Year’s celebrations for the past century and a half. In the second part, we venture beyond Vienna into the world of musicals and great cinema. Hits that the audience recognizes, even if they can’t always pinpoint where they’re from. They’re performed by the same orchestra and sung by the same soloists, and since they work in opera houses on a daily basis, the Broadway standards sound different here than in the versions familiar from recordings. That’s the concept behind this evening. The gala is festive but requires no preparation or prior knowledge of the repertoire. It’s a great choice for a family or company outing, especially when the group includes people of very different ages. On stage: - The Royal Orchestra, conducted by Woytek Mrozek, a conductor and clarinetist who performs on stages around the world - Agata Sava, mezzo-soprano. Opera soloist in Prague - Barbara Gutaj, soprano. Soloist at the Grand Theater in Poznań, winner of the Jan Kiepura Music Award for best debut - Nazar Tatsyshyn, tenor at the National Opera in Budapest - Maryjan Lomaha, violin - ballet soloists We also recommend this concert to seniors and organized groups, such as senior clubs and universities of the third age (group reservations below).
