The 17th Edition of the International Photography Contest “Mathematics Through the Lens”

The “MATH THROUGH THE LENS” photography contest is organized by the University of Szczecin and the Maria Grzegorzewska Academy of Special Education in Warsaw. The project’s initiator and director is Dr. Małgorzata Makiewicz, Ph.D., professor at the University of Szczecin and the Maria Grzegorzewska Academy of Special Education. The contest is free and open to the public. Submissions: by November 3, 2026. All information is available at: www.mwo.usz.edu.pl This year’s prize pool has already exceeded 30,000 PLN. In addition to prizes, original diplomas, and certificates, finalists are featured in calendars, exhibitions, and other publications. The photographs are published in photo galleries, on websites, and on social media. Exhibitions have been presented at the Senate of the Republic of Poland, the European Parliament, and numerous scientific, cultural, and educational institutions both in Poland and abroad. The international project “Mathematics Through the Lens” has won first place three times in the University Research Project category of the University Laurels competition organized by the Forum of Polish Universities; it has also received honorary patronage from the Minister of Science and Higher Education, the National Agency for Academic Exchange, the Mayor of Szczecin, and the Mayor of Warsaw. The project is co-financed by the following partners: the local governments of the West Pomeranian, Masovian, and Kuyavian-Pomeranian provinces.
