The area between Piastów Avenue and Sikorskiego Street is occupied by buildings belonging to the West Pomeranian University of Szczecin. The building located at 17 Piastów Avenue was constructed at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. It was most likely designed by an architect named Gagnitz or Gaznitz.
Originally, the villa served as the home of the director of the construction school; today, it houses the rector’s office of the West Pomeranian University of Technology (formerly the Szczecin University of Technology). The building was added to the construction trades school, which was once located on what is now Piastów Avenue. The building did not suffer significant damage during the air raids of World War II, which is why we can still admire its historic facade today. An interesting feature is the loggia on the ground floor, which is adorned with semicircular arches. The conservator has placed the building and its front garden under protection.
The property was added to the provincial list of historic monuments in May 1995.
