Slawienski Dom Kultury began its exhibition activities in the 1950s. The initial expositions were propaganda and ideological in nature, but by the 1970s the former exhibitions had been replaced by showing the activities of the Slawienski Dom Kultury in the Salon, as well as organizing various exhibitions of artistic creations. Paintings, graphics, sculpture, photography, posters by both Polish and foreign authors were presented, including those from Germany, Hungary, India, the former Soviet Union, Bulgaria, Japan, Belgium, Spain. There was also art by local professional and amateur artists. Temporary exhibitions are held in the Salon. Publishing activities related to the exhibitions presented are also carried out.
A cinema operates within the structures of the Slawno Cultural Center. Film screenings are usually held on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Séances are also organized at other times. Information about the possibility of using the cinema is posted on the SDK website. The cinema, including the balcony, has 250 seats. A Film Discussion Club operates at the cinema. The cinema hall now also serves as an auditorium. Concerts, recitals, theatrical performances, lectures, readings, etc. are held here.
Museum chambers on the premises of the Slawno Cultural Center have existed since 2000. They were established mainly thanks to the initiative of the 'Heritage' Foundation, which, in cooperation with archaeologist Prof. W. Raczkowski, presented exhibitions on the premises of the cultural center: 'Before Slawno Was Built' and 'Archeology from the Kitchen'. These exhibitions presented archaeology in a way that was innovative at the time.
In several rooms of the Museum Chambers, visitors can learn about the city's history. Among other things, they can see old photos, maps, postcards, paintings, sculptures by local artists, photocopies of photos donated by the son of the architect of the Cultural Center building from the pre-war period, a collection of thematic publications, and a tiled stove. The Museum Chambers are located on the second floor of the building.
The amphitheater has a seating capacity of 1,500. The stage is uncovered. Cultural events are held here in the summer: festivals for children and young people, concerts, performances. Cyclically, the place attracts orchestral music amateurs in May, then the Brass Band Festival is organized. The amphitheater is beautifully located, amidst a green area, next to the City Canal.
