The construction of the new castle was prompted by the von der Osten family’s sale of the old castle in 1577. The Blucher family purchased it. The Ostens, unwilling to leave Płoty, decided to build a new residence. They constructed it between 1606 and 1618. The New Castle was architecturally modeled after the old one. It was a two-story building with two wings. It was also surrounded by a moat. The new residence was initially smaller but more functional. The New Castle underwent constant renovations, but it was not until the early 18th century that it acquired its present appearance. At that time, the residence was thoroughly modernized and expanded to include the park that still exists today. After 1945, the castle housed an agricultural school and a boarding school. Currently, the right wing contains the Meeting Hall of the Płoty City and Municipality Council and the Wedding Hall.

The residence’s courtyard can be accessed through a picturesque 17th-century gatehouse.

The property is open to visitors for exterior viewing.
