The Sławogród Fortress is an open-air museum that’s still bustling with life. On its grounds, you can not only see historic buildings but also truly transport yourself back to the early Middle Ages. The site offers visitors the opportunity to learn about architecture, clothing, crafts, and religion, among other things. Within the open-air museum, animal pens have been set up and herb gardens have been planted. Medieval warriors encourage visitors to participate in various games, such as axe and javelin throwing, archery, tug-of-war, and sword fighting. Women, in turn, lead culinary workshops where visitors can, for example, bake their own flatbread. In addition, Sławogród hosts workshops, events, and historical projects open to anyone interested.
