The cemetery in Police–Jasienica, which currently covers an area of approximately 2.6 hectares, was established in the second half of the 19th century. Like all prewar cemeteries in this region, it was a Lutheran cemetery. After World War II, with the arrival of Polish administration, Poles began to be buried here, and the German headstones were simply removed. The remains of the German graves that survived into modern times were transported to the Police Lapidarium in Old Town Park in 2002. The only gravestone commemorating the presence of the German population in Jasienica is the grave of Marianne Zitzke and her parents, Karolos and Adelhaid Fredrich, which is surrounded by a cast-iron fence. The cemetery is overgrown with trees and other vegetation. At the entrance, just beyond the gate, there is a large wooden cross. Water faucets and large trash bins of various types are located in several places. An outdoor restroom stands off to the side within the cemetery grounds. All information regarding the operation of municipal cemeteries in the Police Municipality can be found on the website of the Municipal and Housing Management Department in Police, under the “Cemetery” tab: www.zgkim.police.pl/html/cmentarz.htm. The following are available there: a price list for services, regulations, and a grave search tool.
