• Address: Jana Pawła II 11, 74-505 Mieszkowice

The residential building at 11 Jana Pawła II Street was built at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries and renovated in the 1980s. The building was designed on a rectangular plan measuring 2,110 by 1,130 cm. The building’s floor plan is nearly twice as large as that of typical residential houses within the Old Town layout in Mieszkowice.

The structure was built on a foundation of quarry stone using the half-timbered technique. The walls are mostly filled with ceramic brick, and the entire structure is smoothly plastered. The total thickness of the exterior walls is approximately 50 cm.

The building is a two-story structure topped with a gable roof; each story contains three separate apartments. The building has a partial basement. The building’s first owner is unknown, but the size of the house, the layout of the outbuildings, and the presence of a butcher shop dating back to the early 20th century suggest that it was a farm and processing complex that also engaged in commercial activities.

The building retains some original features, including wooden floors in the living quarters, a wooden staircase in the entryway, and a staircase leading to the attic. However, the original window frames have not survived, and the door frames have also been completely replaced.

Located in the Old Town district of Mieszkowice, the property is an integral part of the historic built environment. The building was added to the provincial list of historic monuments in April 1998.
