The Dutch-style windmill in Lędzin was built in 1723 or 1724. The rotating roof structure (cap) with four sails was mounted on a stationary body equipped with roller bearings. The body itself was built of brick and then plastered and whitewashed. In the rear section of the windmill (as viewed from the blades), remnants of a wind vane have been preserved; this vane used a gear mechanism to automatically rotate the cap into the wind. Inside, visitors can admire the original gear mechanism that drives the millstones grinding the grain. The historic structure is privately owned but is open to the public. Visitors can also spend the night there.
