Flower Calendar

In Dębno, the passage of time is marked by the region’s only flower calendar of its kind. It was created in the 1960s, and its creator was Mr. Józef Wachowski, a gardener from Dębno. For many years, Ms. Janina Broda designed and maintained it. Currently, this role has been taken over by Ms. Iwona Stefaniak, an employee of the Municipal Services Company in Dębno. The calendar consists of approximately 5,500 flowers of various species. The elements of the floral calendar are arranged on a special pedestal to make them more visible. The letters and numbers are arranged using cypress santolina. The background for the date, in red, brown, and green, is formed by charming alternateras. The triangular date display is also decorated with a carpet of mesena, as well as green-leaved and Mexican zeniszek. Agaves and begonias are also used for decoration. The flower bed surrounding the calendar consists of dahlias and ashen flowers. The daily date is changed every morning from June through October.
