Pyrzyce Gate

It was built in the early 15th century. It defended access to the town from the road leading from Pyrzyce. The single-bay structure was built of brick on a square plan. The example of the Pyrzyce Gate shows that the fortification work in Lipiany was carried out in stages. Originally, a square structure was built, topped with battlements (the serrated edges of the defensive walls). Only later was an octagonal section added, which was also equipped with battlements. The tower is crowned by a polygonal brick spire, on top of which a weather vane is mounted.
