The Church of Our Lady the Gate of Dawn in Smardzko is a branch church belonging to the parish of St. Michael in Świdwin. The church was built in the 18th century and expanded in the 19th century. It was built on the site of a previously existing temple. It is a frame structure with a stone foundation and brick walls. It has a hall layout with a chancel separated from the nave. The ceiling is wooden, beamed, and boarded. The temple is rectangular in plan, oriented, and plastered. The church has a gable roof covered with copper sheet metal. Inside, a wooden gallery has been preserved, accessed by wooden stairs. Above the entrance to the church there is a tower topped with a pyramidal cupola. A bronze bell, cast in Franz Schillina's workshop in 1921, hangs in the church tower. The historic elements of the church interior include: an 18th-century brass baptismal font, an eclectic brass candlestick from the early 20th century, a neo-Romanesque organ front, an iron crucifix from the early 20th century, and wooden church benches. The church is surrounded by a stone wall, with a gate leading to the entrance. An English oak tree, a natural monument, grows in the church square.
