The Młyńka Gate is located on Kanał Młyński [the Młyński Canal] near Portowa [Harbour] Street. From the town centre, visitors can get there by walking down Struga Street, Chrobrego Street or Aleja Słowicza [Nightingale Alley] in Park Chrobrego.  A bus stop is located nearby.

On the European scale, the Młyńska Gate is a really unique construction (it is also called Brama Portowa [Harbour Gate], Brama Wodna [Water Gate], Brama Herbowa [Coat of Arms Gate]). It used to be a symbol on the town’s coat of arms. This Gothic, brick construction comes from the 15th century. Its size is 14,5 x 6 m. It is a two-storey building based on two towers, each 28 meters high. Its walls are ornamented with two blind windows and the gate is covered with a hip roof. In the towers there are: embrasures, crenels covered with pyramid spire roofs, and globes with griffins. On the sides there are chains which used o hold lamps.

The gate had mainly a defensive function, but it was also used as a place where the road charge for entering the town was collected.

Currently, the gate is not available for tourists, but in 2015 it has been rented for the use of Lithography Workshop which belongs to Uljana Turczenko - the Ukrainian graphic artist. There are plans to open it for visitors.
